Law enforcement authorities urge the public to verify schemes through official channels following a rise in sophisticated digital scams.

DUBAI: The Dubai Police have issued an urgent advisory warning residents to remain highly vigilant against fraudulent insurance advertisements circulating online. Authorities revealed that cybercriminals are increasingly using sophisticated fake promotional campaigns across digital platforms to dupe unsuspecting individuals into buying non-existent policies or revealing highly sensitive financial details.

According to the security advisory, these scam operations often mimic reputable and well-known insurance corporations, offering unrealistically low premiums, massive discounts, or comprehensive coverage plans that seem too good to be true. Victims are typically directed to phishing websites designed to mirror legitimate payment portals, where their credit card details and personal identity information are harvested.

The Dubai Police emphasized that residents must exercise extreme caution when encountering any insurance offers on social media platforms or via unsolicited text messages and emails. The department noted that scammers frequently exploit major seasonal shifts or policy renewals to catch individuals off guard.

To avoid falling prey to these financial traps, law enforcement officials have urged everyone to verify the credentials of any insurance firm or broker directly through official regulatory portals before initiating any transaction or sharing personal information.
