National Centre of Meteorology forecasts convective cloud formation, localized showers, and wind gusts up to 45 km/h across the Emirates

ABU DHAB : Scorching summer conditions across the United Arab Emirates are expected to push daytime temperatures up to 48°C in internal regions on Wednesday, even as localized convective cloud formations bring a fresh chance of rainfall to eastern, western, and inland areas.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued its daily weather bulletin confirming that an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, paired with an upper-air low-pressure trough, continues to govern atmospheric patterns across the Arabian Peninsula.

Skies will remain partly cloudy overall, though localized instability is set to trigger convective clouds eastward and westward during the afternoon. These cloud masses are expected to drift inland, bringing scattered showers to parts of the country.

The sharpest contrast in conditions will be felt across internal areas, where maximum temperatures are forecast between 43°C and 48°C. Coastal zones and islands will see peaks ranging from 37°C to 42°C, while mountain elevations offer slight relief with maximums between 31°C and 37°C. Among major urban centers, Abu Dhabi is projected to reach 43°C, Dubai 42°C, Sharjah 41°C, and Ajman 40°C, with Al Ain recording peaks up to 47°C.

Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow at light to moderate speeds between 10 km/h and 25 km/h. However, wind speeds could freshen to 45 km/h over inland and mountainous regions during cloud development, kicking up loose dust and temporarily impairing horizontal road visibility.

Maritime conditions are expected to remain stable, with slight seas forecast in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Looking ahead through the end of the week, the NCM expects fair to partly cloudy skies to persist through Sunday. Convective cloud development will remain a daily feature over eastern and southern areas during the afternoon, maintaining a persistent likelihood of scattered summer rain showers.
