The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company confirms ongoing security challenges in critical Gulf shipping lanes while implementing contingency measures to ensure uninterrupted supply to global buyers.

ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has confirmed that 15 commercial vessels have come under attack in the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting heightened maritime security risks across one of the world’s most strategic energy chokepoints.

Despite the disruption to regional shipping, the state-owned energy giant affirmed that operations are being actively managed to fulfill contract commitments and maintain uninterrupted deliveries to global customers.

Commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz—a narrow waterway handling roughly a fifth of the world’s petroleum supplies—has faced elevated security risks following a series of targeted strikes on tankers and cargo vessels. ADNOC stated that emergency management protocols and rerouting strategies are being utilized where feasible to mitigate operational exposure and protect crew safety.

“Efforts are continuously underway to adapt logistics, manage operational risks, and ensure that customer requirements across international markets remain fully satisfied,” the company noted in a statement addressing the incidents.

The maritime incidents have prompted heightened surveillance, naval escorts, and security advisories from regional and international maritime security agencies operating in the Gulf region. Insurance risk premiums for transit through the Persian Gulf have similarly seen adjustments in response to the reported strikes.

ADNOC continues to collaborate with UAE maritime authorities, international shipping registries, and security partners to monitor transit conditions through the corridor. Supply allocations and logistics timelines are being continuously reviewed to minimize market friction.
