Direct commercial and financial links frozen after UAE forces track two Iranian ballistic missiles falling into maritime routes.

DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has suspended all commercial activities, trade exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran until further notice following the detection of two Iranian ballistic missiles fired into regional shipping lanes.

UAE military monitoring confirmed the missiles landed at sea without making landfall or causing terrestrial damage. The complete economic freeze comes as military and civil defense units across the Emirates remain on high alert following repeated disruptions to regional maritime navigation.

Addressing the escalating confrontation, US President Donald Trump stated that no diplomatic talks with Tehran are planned. Trump insisted the Strait of Hormuz remains open and operating, despite significantly reduced commercial traffic and reports of an attack on a merchant vessel in the passage.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that international mediators are awaiting the conclusion of a bilateral agreement between Iran and Oman regarding safety protocols in the Strait of Hormuz before formal US-Iran negotiations can resume.

Tehran has reiterated its specific conditions for normal navigation through the waterway, maintaining a posture that has disrupted energy shipments and global commercial transport across the Gulf.
