Operation Gallant Knight 3 delivers 1,900 tonnes of critical supplies, secures thousands of medical evacuations, and restores specialist care amidst widespread health system collapse.

ABU DHABI / GAZA : The United Arab Emirates has treated more than 89,000 Palestinian patients across its specialized field and maritime medical facilities since mobilizing its flagship humanitarian relief drive, Operation Gallant Knight 3, authorities confirmed.

The multi-tiered medical response, launched on November 5, 2023, has evolved into a vital lifeline for Gaza’s crippled healthcare system, where roughly 30 hospitals have ceased functioning due to extensive structural damage and severe resource shortages.

At the center of the ground intervention is the UAE comprehensive field hospital in southern Gaza, which has treated upwards of 54,000 patients and wounded civilians. Operating under intense strain, the specialized facility delivers urgent surgical interventions, critical trauma care, and ongoing outpatient services.

Further off the coast, anchored at Egypt’s port of El Arish, the Emirati floating hospital has attended to more than 35,000 patients, offering advanced clinical consultations and secondary care that relief teams cannot safely stage within the enclave.

To sustain local facilities on the brink of closure, Emirati aid convoys have channeled 1,903 tonnes of life-saving medicines, hospital hardware, and consumable surgical items through the Rafah crossing. The distribution network operates in direct coordination with the World Health Organization to replenish intensive care units and pediatric wards across remaining medical hubs.

On the ground, field teams have established two operational health centers positioned in northern and southern Gaza. These clinics provide routine clinical consultations to an estimated 4,000 patients monthly. Mobile medical units also navigate dispersed refugee encampments, diagnosing infectious illnesses, delivering triage, and dispensing primary medications to families unable to reach regional clinics.

For critical patients requiring specialized care outside the enclave, Operation Gallant Knight 3 has organized the medical evacuation of approximately 3,000 Palestinians—including children suffering from oncological illnesses and complex blast injuries—for definitive inpatient treatment inside the United Arab Emirates.

Public health containment remains another major component of the relief mission. In response to regional outbreaks, the Emirates supplied more than 600,000 doses of the oral polio vaccine, working alongside humanitarian partners to run emergency vaccination rounds in high-risk displacement corridors. Emergency mobility teams bolstered the enclave’s depleted logistics fleet by commissioning 27 fully equipped intensive-care ambulances.

Rehabilitation teams are addressing long-term physical recovery as well. Specialized workshops have fitted prosthetic limbs for 203 amputees to restore mobility and vocational capacity, alongside a dedicated optometry initiative that distributed 10,000 pairs of prescription eyeglasses across displacement camps.

Emirati humanitarian officials noted that the mission will maintain integrated workflows spanning field triage, advanced overseas evacuations, and targeted rehabilitation until municipal infrastructure can permanently resume basic public care.
