The Palm Tower attraction introduces ‘The Ledge’, extending cantilevered glass viewing platforms over Dubai’s coastline and skyline.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates : Visitors to The View at The Palm can now step onto cantilevered glass floors suspended 240 metres above sea level following the launch of “The Ledge at The View”, an eight-platform addition marking the landmark attraction’s fifth anniversary.
Each transparent platform extends 1.5 metres outwards from the level 52 observation deck at The Palm Tower, allowing guests to peer straight down while taking in unobstructed panoramas of the man-made island, the Arabian Gulf, and Dubai’s coastal skyline.

Dubai Holding Entertainment, which operates the destination, has positioned the installation across two distinct vantage points. Four ledges look directly over the trunk, fronds, and outer crescent of Palm Jumeirah against open waters, while the remaining four face inward, framing the city’s high-density skyline across Dubai Marina and Sheikh Zayed Road.
The operator noted that the glass structure is designed to capture changing light conditions throughout operating hours, ranging from high-contrast daylight views across the gulf to sunset tones and illuminated evening cityscapes.
The Palm Tower observatory officially opened to the public in April 2021. Over its first five operating years, the attraction has welcomed visitors from more than 130 countries, serving as the setting for 1,827 sunrises, an equal number of sunsets, and 40 recorded marriage proposals. More than 300 professional commercial and landscape photographers have utilized the deck for official aerial shoots.
Access to the main level 52 observatory includes interactive gallery exhibits detailing the conceptualization, engineering, and reclamation work behind Palm Jumeirah. For guests seeking higher elevations, the tower also features “The Next Level” on floor 54, an open-air platform standing 250 metres above sea level.
Dubai Holding Entertainment confirmed that access to the new glass ledges is included within standard general admission tickets. Entry starts at AED 115 for adults and AED 80 for children, with bookings open through the attraction’s official digital portal.
