The contracting firm expands its footprint with a 128-km TAQA transmission project and critical railway works linking Fujairah Port to Etihad Rail.
DUBAI, Oct. 23 — AASA Middle East Contracting Company LLC has secured a fast-track power transmission contract under Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) and completed critical freight link works for Etihad Rail, signaling continued operational momentum despite wider Middle East market headwinds.

The Dubai-headquartered contracting firm confirmed the award of a 33 kV power transmission contract encompassing 128 kilometers of underground cabling under TAQA. The infrastructure package will power the Khazna Data Center facility, utilizing a dedicated nine-meter-wide trench corridor designed to handle heavy industrial load specifications.
The contract lands as regional investments in cloud, artificial intelligence, and hyperscale data storage drive up power transmission requirements across the United Arab Emirates.
On the logistics front, AASA delivered fast-track track expansions and supplementary rail connections linking the Etihad Rail national network directly to the Port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman coast. The corridor offers strategic bypass access around the Strait of Hormuz, providing global maritime shipping and energy exporters continuous overland routing. Etihad Rail and associated regulatory bodies formally credited the group for on-schedule commissioning.
“Regional geopolitical tensions have not disrupted our construction schedules or our commitments on national infrastructure undertakings,” said Faris Abubacker, Chief Executive Officer of AASA Group. He noted that the company continues to align deployment targets with the UAE’s long-term utility and decarbonization directives.
The announcements coincide with the 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), marking AASA’s 17th consecutive year of participation at the annual sustainability summit. The contracting group maintains active utility civil engineering engagements with DEWA and municipal authorities across the Northern Emirates.
Founded and led by Chairman and Managing Director Salih Chandhana Parambil, AASA Group has expanded operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and southern India, notably Kerala. Its corporate portfolio spans civil contracting, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), structural steel fabrication, renewable utilities, and integrated facilities management.
According to internal operational audits, the contractor currently employs over 7,000 personnel, operates a centralized fleet exceeding 500 commercial transport units and heavy machinery assets, and manages a 60,000-square-meter dedicated steel fabrication yard. To date, the company has completed over 1,500 projects across industrial, commercial, and utility sectors.
