Dubai Municipality has approved the Dubox Modular Construction System as part of its newly recognised building systems, supporting the emirate’s efforts to accelerate the adoption of innovative and sustainable construction technologies.
The approval is aimed at enhancing construction efficiency, improving building quality, reducing project delivery times, and promoting environmentally responsible development practices across Dubai.
A delegation from Dubai Municipality, led by Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi, visited the company’s manufacturing facility operated by AMANA Group in Dubai Industrial City.
The visit formed part of Dubai Municipality’s efforts to strengthen collaboration with the private sector and support the wider adoption of advanced construction methodologies.
During the tour, officials reviewed the modular construction process, which involves manufacturing building units in a controlled factory environment before transporting and assembling them on-site. The approach significantly reduces construction timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
According to Dubai Municipality, modular construction also helps minimise waste, reduce environmental impact, and improve resource efficiency, making it a key component of sustainable urban development.
The company showcased various modular building solutions, ongoing projects, future expansion plans, and challenges associated with increasing the use of modern construction methods across the industry.
Commenting on the approval, Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi said Dubai Municipality remains committed to creating a competitive and attractive construction sector by encouraging the adoption of advanced building technologies and innovative construction techniques.
She noted that modular construction can play an important role in the development of housing projects for Emirati citizens by helping reduce overall construction costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
The company also presented progress on modular structures being developed for Dubai Municipality’s Work from Park programme, which was launched at Al Barsha Pond Park and aims to provide flexible and interactive workspaces within public parks across the city.
The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader vision of integrating innovation, sustainability, and quality of life into urban development projects.
