Running through September 21, the community initiative features female entrepreneurs, homegrown enterprises, and interactive skill-building sessions.

DUBAI, Sept. 8, 2026 : Dubai Municipality launched “Athar,” an exhibition honoring the achievements and societal influence of Emirati women, at Hewi Nad Al Sheba, municipal officials announced Tuesday.

The two-week gathering, which opened Sept. 7 and runs through Sept. 21, marks Emirati Women’s Day by highlighting female contributions to commerce, local culture, and community welfare. Taking its title from the Arabic word for “impact,” the showcase serves as a live platform for homegrown startups, established enterprises, and independent female innovators across Dubai.

Alongside market stalls and project displays, organizers scheduled interactive workshops designed to train approximately 250 participants in practical business skills, product development, and creative disciplines.

Eman Al Falasi, Chairperson of the Dubai Municipality Women’s Council, stated that the initiative directly connects female-led ventures with public consumers and economic opportunities:

“Athar provides an integrated community platform that brings together entrepreneurship, learning and family experiences. It gives participating businesses and home-based enterprises an opportunity to showcase their creativity and products to wider audiences while offering visitors an engaging recreational and educational experience.”

Al Falasi added that backing female entrepreneurs supports the broader targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which prioritizes sustainable growth, domestic workforce participation, and small-to-medium enterprise innovation.

The venue at Hewi Nad Al Sheba remains open daily to the public throughout the exhibition period, offering cultural exhibits, consumer goods, and family-oriented activities alongside the central commercial stalls.
