Four-week initiative offers high school and university students hands-on training in AI, smart transport, and green economy alongside financial rewards.

DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened registration for its ‘Ajyal’ Summer Training Program 2026, aimed at Emirati high school and university students. The initiative aligns with the RTA’s commitment to empowering national talent and equipping the youth with critical skills required to drive future sustainable development.

The program is designed as a strategic investment in young UAE nationals, offering specialized educational and practical training. Participants will gain firsthand exposure to international best practices across the RTA’s diverse operational sectors, fostering a culture of innovation and preparing them dynamically for the competitive global labor market.

Athari Mohammad, Executive Director of human resources and development at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, emphasized that ‘Ajyal’ 2026 bridges classroom learning with real-world corporate environments. She noted that this year’s edition coincides with the “Year of the Family” initiatives, focusing on the crucial role families play in fostering highly educated youth capable of supporting the UAE’s and Dubai’s ongoing economic growth.

Scheduled to kick off in July 2026, the comprehensive four-week program will immerse students in key futurist fields. Training tracks will heavily focus on advanced engineering, infrastructure development, AI-driven smart transport systems, and green economy and sustainability strategies.

To encourage widespread participation, Athari Mohammad urged eligible Emirati students to register promptly. Beyond career-defining corporate exposure, the RTA has announced a range of incentives for the interns, including financial rewards, specialized technical workshops, and an accredited training certificate upon successful completion of the program.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been a pivotal driver of the emirate’s modernization since its inception. By incorporating artificial intelligence and green technologies into mass transit and urban planning, the RTA aligns directly with the UAE’s broader national strategies, including the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative. Programs like ‘Ajyal’ ensure that Emirati youth are positioned at the forefront of this technological and environmental transition.
