DWTC cements Dubai’s position as a global business hub, contributing significantly to the emirate’s non-oil GDP.

DUBAI: The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has achieved a monumental milestone, generating a staggering AED 25 billion in economic output. This performance underscores the venue’s pivotal role in transforming Dubai into a premier global business and exhibition hub over the last 47 years.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, commended the institution’s sustained contribution to the emirate’s economic landscape. The legacy of DWTC reflects Dubai’s visionary approach to economic diversification and its ability to connect global markets.

Since its inception, DWTC has been a cornerstone of Dubai’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector. By consistently hosting high-profile international trade fairs, mega-conferences, and consumer shows, the center has successfully attracted billions in foreign investment and millions of business travelers from across the globe.

The economic yield of AED 25 billion highlights not just direct revenue from events, but a massive cascading effect on Dubai’s broader economy. The hospitality, aviation, retail, and transport sectors have been major beneficiaries, further driving the emirate’s non-oil GDP growth.

As Dubai continues to advance its economic agenda under the D33 economic strategy, DWTC remains central to its future ambitions. The institution is poised to expand its portfolio of international events, reinforcing Dubai’s status as the commercial capital of the region and a vital link between East and West.
