The 4,000-crore rupee flagship development in Chandkheda will feature India’s largest shopping mall, a five-star hotel, and luxury serviced apartments.

NEW DELHI:LuLu Group Chairman MA Yusuff Ali met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to discuss the construction progress of the retail conglomerate’s massive multi-purpose commercial project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

During the meeting held at the Home Minister’s official residence, Yusuff Ali briefed Shah on the operational timeline and development phases of the ₹4,000-crore ($480 million) complex in Chandkheda. Home Minister Shah assured full administrative support and cooperation to ensure the project meets its scheduled completion targets.

The flagship venture is slated to become one of Western India’s largest retail and hospitality destinations. Spanning over 30 lakh square feet, the integrated development will house a mega LuLu Mall, a five-star hotel, luxury serviced apartments, an advanced hypermarket, over 300 international and national retail brands, a multi-screen cinema complex, and a 15-kitchen multi-cuisine food court.

“The Ahmedabad project represents a key milestone in our expansion strategy across India,” Yusuff Ali said during the briefing. “With the active support of both central and state authorities, we aim to deliver a world-class shopping and leisure environment that will boost local trade and tourism.”

The project is expected to create over 6,000 direct employment opportunities and generate indirect livelihoods for more than 12,000 people in the region. LuLu International Holdings Chief Operations Officer AV Anand Ram accompanied Yusuff Ali during the high-level meeting.

The UAE-based group, which operates extensively across the GCC, Egypt, and South Asia, has been expanding its footprint in India with large-format shopping centers in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad.
