The Abu Dhabi mental health network will run clinical research using targeted magnetic stimulation to treat autism, depression, and brain injuries.

ABU DHABI, Sept. 14, 2026 : SAKINA, the specialized mental health network under Abu Dhabi’s SEHA and parent company PureHealth, has signed a strategic research pact with US-based medical technology firm PeakLogic to evaluate precision brain stimulation treatments for severe neurological and psychiatric conditions.

The partnership focuses on clinical trials testing Personalized Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (PrTMS) combined with PeakLogic’s proprietary spectral electroencephalogram (sEEG) analytics. Clinicians will investigate targeted therapeutic protocols for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and concussions.

Unlike conventional neuromodulation approaches that apply standardized electrical pulses, the technology paired with spectral EEG mapping attempts to tailor magnetic frequency and location directly to each patient’s brainwave data.

SAKINA currently delivers standard Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation across its clinical facilities. The non-invasive, medication-free intervention is widely used to treat patients who have shown resistance to traditional pharmaceutical drugs. Moving into personalized stimulation aims to improve clinical response rates in complex cases.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, PeakLogic will supply its sEEG analytical software alongside technical training for SAKINA’s clinical and research staff. The program is designed to establish localized, evidence-based neurotechnology benchmarks in Abu Dhabi while facilitating bilateral scientific data sharing.

Dr. Zain Ali Al Yafai, Chief Executive Officer of SAKINA, stated that the initiative directly aligns with national efforts to introduce specialized neuroscience solutions to the Emirates. “Through clinically governed research into advanced magnetic stimulation and data-driven assessment, we aim to support more precise, personalized care for individuals living with complex neuropsychiatric conditions,” Al Yafai said.

The collaboration will place particular clinical emphasis on evaluating behavioral and cognitive improvements in neurodivergent populations.

“PeakLogic is thrilled to partner with SAKINA to explore the application of our PrTMS therapeutic approach in supporting individuals with autism,” said Dr. Kevin T. Murphy, founder and chief executive officer of PeakLogic. “We look forward to working alongside a dedicated team of experts who share our commitment to expanding access to innovative, personalized care.”

The research framework will operate under local clinical governance and UAE healthcare research standards before any broader operational rollout across SEHA’s wider inpatient and outpatient mental health network.
