Authorities urge residents to remain cautious, avoid affected locations, and report emergencies via official helplines following the safety update in Madinah Province.
YANBU, Saudi Arabia:Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defence announced on Saturday that the emergency situation in Yanbu Governorate has concluded and the immediate danger to the area has passed.
The safety update follows an earlier emergency directive broadcast across the Kingdom’s National Early Warning Platform, which advised residents in the Red Sea port city to seek immediate shelter inside sturdy structures and stay clear of windows.
In a statement issued after lifting the alert, Civil Defence authorities advised the public to continue exercising caution, stay away from affected sites, and refrain from gathering or filming at emergency locations to ensure response operations remain unhindered.
During the initial alert, citizens and residents were instructed to remain calm, avoid balconies and rooftops, and seek shelter in interior rooms. Drivers on the road were advised to pull off safely away from high-rise buildings and bridges until the danger subsided.
Emergency officials reminded the public to report any incidents by calling 911 in the Madinah, Mecca, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 998 across the rest of the Kingdom. Authorities emphasized that residents should rely strictly on official channels for verified updates.
