Strategic meeting at the Accreditation and Preventive Training Department establishes a joint framework for safety workshops and legal awareness drives for blue-collar workers.

SHARJAH — July 16, 2026 — Nissar Thalangara, President of the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS), held a high-level strategic meeting with Dr. Saeed, Director of the Accreditation and Preventive Training Department of the Sharjah Police, to enhance institutional frameworks protecting the welfare and legal rights of expatriate laborers. The bilateral dialogue, conducted at the department’s headquarters, focused on designing joint community outreach programs and safety awareness modules tailored for the extensive non-resident Indian (NRI) workforce in the emirate. The initiative marks a significant step forward in uniting government infrastructure with community organizations to elevate the quality of life for blue-collar workers.

The collaborative assembly highlights the expanding institutional relationship between local law enforcement and the region’s long-standing expatriate community organizations. During the session, both leaderships engaged in extensive discussions regarding the socio-economic challenges, regulatory compliance issues, and general safety protocols affecting industrial and construction workers across Sharjah’s commercial landscape.

Dr. Saeed emphasized that the Accreditation and Preventive Training Department of the Sharjah Police is dedicated to deploying people-centric security policies. He noted that the department will continue to develop preventive training mechanisms to systematically lower workplace risks and provide foreign laborers with reliable, clear channels to seek institutional support.

IAS President Nissar Thalangara expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of Sharjah and its police force for maintaining elite safety standards and implementing empathetic community policing initiatives. He officially committed the full resource capacity of the Indian Association Sharjah to support the department’s upcoming public campaigns.

The meeting concluded with both entities setting a structural timeline to execute practical, multi-lingual field programs, safety seminars, and legal clinics directly inside major industrial zones, solidifying long-term social harmony across the emirate.
