DUBAI : Major international airports across the United Arab Emirates are maintaining standard operational schedules on Tuesday, even as regional carriers enforce targeted cancellations and detours on select Gulf corridors following recent geopolitical tensions.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi continue to process standard flight volumes with minimal disruption to long-haul networks. However, airlines operating out of the UAE have suspended or trimmed specific short-haul routes to neighboring Gulf nations, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, as aviation authorities monitor regional security conditions.
Airlines operating in the region have adjusted their flight paths and schedules to navigate regional airspace restrictions. Despite these route alterations, airport infrastructure across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah remains fully open and operational.
Etihad Airways has maintained the suspension of its passenger flights between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. The national carrier also confirmed the cancellation of services EY653 and EY654 operating between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait City, citing ongoing operational adjustments. Airline officials have urged travelers to ensure their contact records remain updated in booking systems to receive automated status alerts.
In Dubai, flydubai has cancelled specific regional sector flights, including services FZ811 and FZ815 to Abha in Saudi Arabia. The low-cost carrier continues to reroute a portion of its broader regional flights, which has led to slightly longer flight durations on select sectors.
Air Arabia’s operations out of Sharjah International Airport reflect similar selective adjustments. The airline cancelled several flights to Gulf destinations, including services G9068 and G9124 to Kuwait; G9107 to Bahrain; G9040, G9138, and G9027 to Doha; G9195 to Abha; and G9160 to Dammam.
Regional carriers outside the UAE have also calibrated their schedules. Qatar Airways announced a temporary suspension of all passenger flights serving Bahrain, Kuwait, and Erbil through July 31. Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) confirmed that all flight modifications and schedule updates through the end of October 2026 have been finalized across its central reservation engine, advising passengers not to head to airports without confirmed bookings. Low-cost carrier flyadeal cancelled its F3506 service from Dubai to Riyadh.
International regulatory bodies maintain a cautious posture. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) extended its operational security advisory for civil aircraft flying over the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and parts of the Gulf of Oman until August 31. Government travel advisories from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Australia urge citizens traveling through the Middle East to confirm flight status before departure and prepare for potential schedule changes.
Flight operations across the UAE’s main transit hubs continue to handle standard intercontinental traffic between Europe, Asia, and the Americas without systemic delay. Aviation authorities recommend that all Gulf-bound passengers verify live flight status via official airline mobile applications prior to airport departure.
