Diplomatic Adviser Dr. Anwar Gargash emphasizes ground achievements over regional rumors and online misinformation.

DUBAI, August 19, 2026:The United Arab Emirates has formally rejected widespread reports suggesting the cancellation of foreign workers’ residency visas and the provision of financial facilities to Iran, calling the claims baseless online propaganda.

Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, addressed the speculation in an official statement posted on X on Wednesday. He noted that coordinated digital platforms have been targeting the nation with misinformation during a critical period of strategic regional focus.

“Some targeted platforms are circulating false information about the UAE, while the country continues to focus its efforts on dealing with developments in the region and preparing for the next phase,” Gargash stated.

The senior official explicitly addressed rumors regarding administrative changes to expatriate residency and economic assistance extended to Tehran.

“As for the rumours being circulated, such as those concerning the cancellation of workers’ residency visas or the provision of financial facilities to Iran and others, they are incorrect and part of desperate media campaigns,” Gargash said. “The UAE’s approach is that the best response to such claims is through work and achievements on the ground. Facts and tangible achievements remain stronger than rumours, and work remains stronger than noise”.

The statements come amid heightened regional diplomatic engagements across the Middle East. Over recent weeks, senior UAE officials have consistently reiterated the Gulf nation’s commitment to regional stability, international law, and diplomatic crisis management.

Federal authorities have encouraged residents and the international community to rely exclusively on official state channels for policy updates and news regarding residency regulations and foreign policy decisions.
