Monthly legal help desk addresses travel bans, visa issues, and financial fraud cases for the Gulf Malayali community.

DUBAI: In a major boost to the expatriate community facing complex legal issues, the Dubai KMCC Legal Cell successfully organized its monthly legal aid clinic, providing free consultation and expert guidance to over 60 distressed individuals. The initiative has emerged as a crucial lifeline for diaspora members navigating the intricacies of UAE’s legal and civil frameworks.

The legal aid camp witnessed active participation from prominent legal experts, senior advocates, and social workers with extensive experience in the UAE legal landscape. They offered strategic counsel to those entangled in severe dilemmas, ensuring that marginalized and eligible individuals received robust legal paths forward.

A panel of legal luminaries spearheaded the consultations. Led by Dubai KMCC Legal Cell Chairman Adv. Ibrahim Khalil Arimala, the panel included Adv. Anil Kumar, Adv. Azeez Tholeri, Adv. Muhammad Sajid, Adv. Nazia, and Adv. Razeena. The logistical coordination and smooth execution of the clinic were managed by Legal Cell members Muhammad Shebin, Shameer, and Subair Abdullah.

According to organizers, the majority of the grievances brought forward stemmed from crippling financial liabilities and unresolved civil or criminal lawsuits. A significant portion of attendees were individuals suffering under travel bans triggered by expired visas, IDs, or passports. The desk also handled heart-wrenching cases of jobseekers duped by fraudulent recruitment agencies, employees who lost their jobs and documents due to employer deception, and individuals stranded in the UAE for years through no fault of their own. Cases regarding marital and complex family disputes were also closely assessed.

The empaneled lawyers painstakingly reviewed each case, offering clear, step-by-step guidance on how to navigate the legal recourse legally and efficiently. For many who could not otherwise afford premium legal representation, this clinic offered a profound sense of relief. Organizers emphasized that the initiative perfectly reflects KMCC’s core mission: uplifting the underprivileged, guiding those in distress, and empowering the community through essential legal literacy.

The office-bearers reiterated that the Dubai KMCC Legal Cell will remain steadfast in its commitments toward legal awareness, social service, and supporting those in need. The legal clinic will continue to be held on the third Sunday of every month from 2:00 PM onwards at the KMCC Hall near the Abu Hail Metro Station in Dubai, with senior advocates in attendance, confirmed Legal Cell Chairman Adv. Ibrahim Khalil and Vice Chairman Adv. Muhammad Sajid.

The Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) is one of the largest and most influential expatriate organizations for Keralites in the Gulf region. Its Dubai chapter’s Legal Cell operates as a structured volunteer collective of certified legal professionals and social advocates. Amidst changing global dynamics and local regulatory updates in the UAE, the Legal Cell has consistently worked to provide structural remedies for expatriates caught in regulatory crosscrumbs, ensuring the diaspora remains well-informed and protected.
