Indian Association RAK mobilizes community leaders to fast-track construction of the facility in Al Jazeera Al Hamra, resolving a long-standing challenge for expatriates in the Northern Emirates.
RAS AL KHAIMAH, July 18, 2026 :The Indian expatriate community in the Northern Emirates is set to receive a dedicated cremation facility and multi-faith prayer hall following a land grant by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Located in the Al Jazeera Al Hamra industrial area, the project addresses a long-standing logistical challenge for non-Muslim expatriates residing in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, and Fujairah, who previously had to rely almost exclusively on facilities in Sharjah or Dubai for final rites.
Following the land allocation, the Indian Association Ras Al Khaimah convened an extraordinary executive meeting to map out the construction phase. The session, chaired by Association President S.A. Saleem, brought together leaders from various Indian state regional associations to coordinate community-wide backing for the project.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi for this benevolent and humanitarian gesture,” Saleem said during the meeting. “The association is moving swiftly to secure all necessary municipal and environmental clearances. Our objective is to begin ground-breaking and construction at the earliest possible date.”
The planned facility will feature modern cremation chambers alongside an inclusive, multi-faith prayer hall designed to accommodate the final funerary rituals of diverse communities. Community leaders representing multiple Indian states formally pledged their financial and logistical support during the session to ensure the project’s rapid completion.
Key community figures and executive committee members participating in the strategic discussions included Jibin, Nasar Al Maha, Riyas Kattil, Ajayakumar, Nilesh Parikh, Manikandan, Ramesh, Suresh Vengode, Prestin, Pushpan, Hariprakash, Suresh, and Shakthi.
The Indian Association RAK confirmed that technical designs and project timelines will be unveiled once preliminary government regulatory approvals are finalized.
